EIU Housing

UNIVERSITY APARTMENTS ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be:

a graduate student enrolled in 6 semester hours (minimum) each semester at EIU.

 or be

an undergraduate student enrolled in 9 semester hours (minimum) each semester at EIU or Lakeview College of Nursing.

 and meet one of the following requirements:

• be married living with a spouse
• be a parent living with a dependent child (or children) full-time
• be 25 years of age

Married applicants must provide the Office of University Housing & Dining Services with a certified courthouse copy of their marriage certificate.  A State of Illinois criminal background check is also required for all non-student adult spouse occupants of the apartments prior to receiving an assignment.  There is an $18 fee for background checks. Parents must provide a certified courthouse copy of the child’s birth certificate.  This information must be provided prior to assignment.
